Workshops for Children or Adults
The Tuffeteer will be happy to provide workshops for adults and children over 8yrs, to produce small tuffets of their own. They will be shown how to thread the loom and will be guided through the rewarding process of this age old tradition of tuffet making in a fun setting.

There will be a range of colours and textures for use and up to ten looms will be available for the participants to work on individually. Protective vinyl cloth will be given to each 'tuffetee' to place on their lap to avoid any possible lanolin grease marks on clothing, although old clothes are advisable!

Workshop Duration
A workshop can be of varying lengths to suit your event, ranging from one hour to four hours where the 'tuffetees' will work to produce a collective tuffet masterpiece which may then be broken down and shared amongst all.

There are three options for charge rates for workshops to suit the event:-
Festivals - No workshop charge to the festival provided that I may make a small nominal charge of £5.00 - £7.50 per adult, no cost to children, to cover material costs (to be discussed with individual festival organisers) plus have the option to sell a small range of tuffets to the general public (not just workshop participants) throughout the workshop period
Fetes and Country Fairs - No workshop charge to the event provided that I may make a small charge of up to £5.00 per adult, no cost to children, to cover material costs plus have the option to sell a range of tuffets to the general public (not just workshop participants) at all times.
Alternatively I would be delighted to come along and demonstrate the art of tuffet making at your event free of charge provided I am able to sell a range of tuffets throughout the day
Schools and Educational events - A workshop charge of varying rates and unfortunately there will be an additional travel allowance after the first 10 miles
- £35.00 for one hour
- £40.00 for two hours
- £50.00 for half-day up to four hours
A maximum of 6 children of 8yrs and above when working unassisted, or 10 children of 8yrs and above if an assisting support worker is available.
Adult Craft Workshops
Private workshops are available for small groups at £45.00 per adult to include lunch.
Workshops will run for 3.5hrs in an informal atmosphere where you will be gently guided through the process to create your own Titan, Talan or Tawny tuffet approximately 13" x 18" in a choice of natural white or shades of brown fleece. The workshop will include a brief talk to include a background of the Tuffeteer and a little about the breeds of sheep used.
