Kernow Mill (Cornwall) - Review - Cornish Fayre in a Mill!

The mill supports a variety of locally made businesses with products ranging from cakes and pies, ice cream, chutneys, Cornish beers and cider and now supports the local Cornish Guild of Smallholders (CGOS) that is situated in a marquee conveniently located at the side door!!
The shop also has an Edinburgh Woollen mill fashion section, an array of outdoor clothing and a superb shoe and boot section!  In fact there is not a lot that cannot be bought here although a few items can be a little pricey .............. but not all by any means!!

Kernow Mill also provides a warm and friendly cafe where you can sit and comtemplate your purchases whilst reflecting on the hardness of the wooden chairs supplied - Hark! I hear a wonderful thought drop into your minds - downstairs in the Farmers Market Marquee you will find there displayed an array of 'Bottom Heaven' - tuffets for your delectation, all wool is the natural colour woven  in a wonderful blend of greys, browns and of course natural white. What more could be desired to enjoy those perfect relaxation moments - tea and tuffet!
Textures differ according to taste and potential useage - hardwearing beautiful Herdwick wool from Bodmin moor through to the sensationally soft Jacobs wool designed more for indoors but equally useful in the outdoor environment the choice will be yours - perhaps you would like your own colour combination lovingly put together to fit a conservatory bench or designer log in the garden?

Ecofriendly wool seatpads, car cushions or maybe just tuffets?

Tuffets for toddlers!

Christmas is coming and it is time to buy a wool cushion/seat pad that is unique, eco-friendly, rustic and deliciously sheepy! That perfect handmade cornish gift that will give hours of comfort - indeed it may be said that  'bottom heaven' is deserved by your loved ones! The tuffet may be considered as an alternative to the conventional synthetic cushion that is so often found thrown upon the average chair. The synthetic material slowly saps your warmth and energy whilst in contrast the wool tuffet gently feeds back your heat and so subtlely soothes away the stresses of the moment.
The tuffet is available in a range of sizes and styles to suit the individual' taste. All are made from natural undyed fleece and are woven using a natural cotton, cotton and bamboo mix or a 100% wool warp.
The tuffet can be made to suit your favourite chair, bench or car seat. The comfort of the wool is most complementary when on long distance drives and some back suffering customers have found that it has given considerable relief throughout their longer drives as the natural wool continually reflects warmth  back to the body.
If any of the above interests you then please visit the Travelling Tuffeteer's online shop at http://thetravellingtuffeteer.yolasite.com/ for more product information!

Tuffets at Bampton!

Eco-friendly tuffets for sale at Bampton were appreciated by the many, for use on the typically hard wooden seats offered for the endurance test of the many folky musicians present! What a wicked weekend at Bampton Folk Festival "which seems to be getting more and more popular just by word of mouth ... So ... Pssssst ... Keep it a secret ..."  to take the words of the great festival guru Rob Hopcott!! Music was pouring forth from a few of the finest pubs in Devon, the Bridge House Hotel, The Swan and Blackberries Hotel - musicians and singers alike bounced off each other to produce wonderful tunes creating a fine festive atmosphere. Songs of  deep meaning and of triviality, sea shanties, traditional folk lore and other new found nonsense were abundant in The Bridge, with the trad music sessions being performed in the other two venues.
Hours of drumming on the Cajon box drum produced such a numbing experience for one key player that the Tuffeteer was called upon to come to the rescue -  the rustic wool  tuffet atop the Cajon drum gave forth true 'bottom heaven' providing a soothing and comforting experience to the weary derriere!
